Our free AI Agent answers tech questions in plain words, any time of day. Here is how to ask good questions, what it can help with, and how to stay safe.

Sometimes you just need a quick answer: why the printer will not print, how to make the phone ring louder, or whether a strange message is a scam. The New Tech AI Agent is a free tool on our website that gives step-by-step guidance in plain, friendly language.

What is an AI Agent?

It is a computer program that reads your question and writes back an answer. It does not get tired or impatient, so you can ask as many questions as you like, including the same one twice. It is not a person, and like any tool it can sometimes be wrong.

How to ask a good question

1. Say what device you have. For example: “I have an iPhone,” or “My laptop is Windows.”
2. Describe what you see. “A box popped up that says No Internet” helps more than “it’s broken.”
3. Say what you want to happen. “I want to print a photo from my email.”
4. Ask follow-up questions. If a step does not make sense, just say so. “I don’t see that button” is a perfectly good reply.

Staying safe

The AI Agent will never ask for your passwords, bank details, card numbers or one-time codes, and it will never ask to control your computer. Please do not type those things into it, or into any chat. If anyone asks you for them, it is very likely a scam.

When to ask a person
